I'm not sure whether it's the tone of voice I use, or the combination of sounds in the phrase, "Daddy's home", but Elijah knows what it means now. If I hear the familiar jangle of keys in the door, I tell Elijah, "Daddy's home" and he looks towards the kitchen, where he knows Daddy will appear, with a look of anticipation. As soon as Elijah sees his Daddy, there are big smiles all round. As soon as Daddy is home, Elijah wants nothing more to do with Mummy, and leans towards him with arms outstretched. It's one of the most adorable things in the world.
