The best laid plans of mice and men... again!

I had such grand plans this morning. I was planning to leave the house with Elijah around 9am. I had things to do and places to be. The first snag was that I needed to fill out some paperwork to go with a package being returned to the manufacturer. I hadn't counted on that. Time: 9:05.

In the time that it took to do the paperwork, the weather turned. What had been a miserable, overcast day, became a good day for drying nappies. So with Elijah in the Ergo, I gathered up the nappies and hung them out on the line. Time: 9:25.

I though I had everything organised: nappy, check; wet bag, check; wipes, check; nappy bag, check; crackers for Elijah, check; water in straw cup, check; handbag, check; keys, check; Elijah's shoes...

"Elijah, where are your shoes?"

Toddle, toddle toddle...
He found one and presented it to me.

"That's one shoe. Good. Where's the other shoe?"

Toddle, toddle toddle...

Toddle, toddle toddle...

Toddle, toddle toddle...

All around the house. I searched the house as well. I looked in all the places I could think of: all his regular hiding spots. No shoe. Time: 9:50.

Then I spotted it.

In my handbag.

Heaven knows why he put it in there!

Almost an hour after the original departure time, we set off for the shops.

Only to have it start to rain again.
