Best thing about parenthood. Ever.

It's standard procedure for one of us to do a final check on Elijah before we go to bed so we can make sure his blanket hasn't been kicked off. It's also one last chance to remind ourselves how beautiful he is, before the day is over. Lately, I've taken to giving his sleeping self a little kiss and cuddle while performing this ritual. On a whim the other day, I added a whispered, "I love you, Elijah".

Imagine my delight when my (snoring) boy instinctively responded, "I love you too." He then resumed snoring.

This is now a mandatory part of the routine. Warm fuzzies abound!

All you need is love ...

Love is all you need.

Well food and shelter help too, but love conquers all.

Ella doesn't exactly say 'i love you too' yet, but her newborn self-settle grunts and squeaks are almost as good :)
